This is the Arctic Grayling Dangle Earring.
Once native to northern Michigan(near me), but has now gone extinct due to lumbering in the last century: it is still found in a few places within the United States. There are small populations of it out west and you can find it in pretty good abundance in Alaska.
The unusual shaped colorful dorsal fin is what is the unique feature of this species
This is the same casting I use for the “Jumping Fish” pendants and also as a lapel. It would make a nice set. It is also available in the 3 signature pendant designs I created-“Reeling Up”, “Reel-N-Fish” and “The Catch”.
Another great option is the highlighted version. I use the black enamel paint over the fish to emphasize its unique characteristics. It gives it more detail and all the etchings within the original wax is more visible by contrast.
It is available in 14K White or Yellow Gold. Please allow a min of 2 weeks for all gold orders.
This fish is also available in full color with the hand enamel painting process I do. It adds $100 to paint if interested. Email me at Renee@tightlinesjewelry.com or call me at 419-535-8888 to discuss. If you have a photo of a special catch, I can mimic the photo.
